On October 1st 2019, we made a fresh start as KIOXIA Holdings Corporation. The name KIOXIA is a combination of the Japanese word kioku meaning “memory” and the Greek word axia meaning “value.” As a global leader in flash memory and SSDs, KIOXIA is cultivating a new era of memory.

The World’s Largest class Flash Memory Factory

Kioxia's Yokkaichi Plant (Mie Prefecture) produces more than one third of the flash memory used throughout the world (including joint capital investment with Western Digital Corporation, based on our own research). Located on a 660,000 ㎡ site, it comprises five manufacturing plants that work closely with the Technology Development Division to produce the world's most advanced flash memory products.
The Kitakami Plant (Iwate Prefecture) began operating in 2020 to meet the growing demand for flash memory.
